Philharmonia Orchestra Family Music Day

The Philharmonia Orchestra is going on a journey into space and you're invited to come and join the mission! They'll be exploring the solar system with extracts from Holst's The Planets and venturing into outer space with the instantly recognisable theme to 2001 - A Space Odyssey, Richard Strauss's Also sprach Zarathustra. Why not get into the mood by dressing up as an astronaut, an alien or even a star?
There are also free half-hour craft and musical introduction workshops at 10am and 10.30am in The Front Room and Foyer at Queen Elizabeth Hall. Your concert ticket allows you to book for one workshop, but please note that places are limited and you must book for your workshop by phoning. Suitable for ages 5 - 11.

Imagine Children's Festival

At Southbank Centre's annual children's festival, musicians, storytellers, comedians, puppeteers and dancers come together to entertain the whole family. Hear from the best children’s authors and then meet them after the shows. Laugh your socks off with stand-up comedian James Campbell or let your hair down with Dan Zanes’ rock concert for tots. There are workshops with artists from around the world, free poetry, storytelling and dancing, and the return of Bookworm Babies. Each event is suitable for different ages.  My favorites for my little tot are "Dan Zanes and Friends" and "Penguin".
